Makia Jenkins, Lead Attorney

Makia grew up in Pike County, where she graduated from Pike County High School in 2015. She graduated from Georgia State University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy and Criminal Justice.

In May of 2021, she graduated from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law of Faulkner University with her Juris Doctorate and Master’s in Law in Dispute Resolution. While in law school, she was the Events Committee Coordinator for the Board of Advocates. She participated in the Greg Allen Mock Trial and was the semi-finalist in that competition. She was the President of the Jones Public Interest Law Foundation. She was also a Senior Editor for the Southern Journal of Policy and Justice. During school, she was given the opportunity to serve as the Director of Social Action for the Southern Region Black Law Student Association. She was also awarded the Distinguished Public Interest Fellow. This award is only awarded to the student of the senior class who most exemplifies the essence of public service. She also interned at Beasley Allen and Legal Services of Alabama.

In her free time, Makia enjoys traveling and spending time with her dog, Dallas.
