Mya J. Awe Attorney
Mya J. Awe was born and raised in Georgia. She is the daughter of Maryann Kimble-Awe, an Alabama native and Kehinde Awe, native of Nigeria. She graduated from McEachern High School in 2009.
Mya graduated with honors from Albany State University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. While at Albany State University she served as the President of the History and Political Science Club, became a Court Appointed Child Advocate, and became a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.
In 2014 Mya attended Charlotte School of Law in Charlotte, North Carolina. While in law school, she completed an externship at the Mecklenburg Public Defenders Office helping indigent clients facing criminal charges. She was also a part of the Immigration Law Clinic helping immigrants facing deportation. In addition, she served as the Vice President of the Family Law Society. Mya graduated from law school with probono honors for her dedication to working 300+ hours serving the underserved.
Mya was admitted to the Georgia Bar in May 2018. Before joining Lister and Holt as a Staff Attorney, She practiced criminal, family and personal injury law in the Atlanta area. In her free time, Mya enjoys traveling , listening to music and spending time with her daughter Riley.
