Breona Ward Attorney
Breona Ward is an Atlanta native, growing up in the metro area, before graduating from Chattahoochee High School. In 2014, she graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor Degree in Political Science and Africana Studies. Breona went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from Mercer Law School in 2018.
Breona’s decision to enter law school stemmed from her desire to be an agent of change in her community. While attending Mercer Law School, Breona acted as Vice President of the Legal Aid Volunteer Association (LAVA), as a member of the Jessup International Moot Court Team, and as a member of the Black Law Student's Association. Additionally, she was a recipient of the 2017 Mercer Law Equal Access to Justice Scholarship. Over the next two years, she worked as an intern for the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit's Public Defender Office in Macon, Georgia and Legal Aid Justice Center-JustChildren Program in Charlottesville, Virginia. As an intern, Ms. Ward provided legal support to attorneys and case managers in representing indigent clients.
Prior to joining Lister and Holt, Breona worked as a law clerk for a private criminal defense and civil rights firm in Decatur, Georgia. During her time as a law clerk, Breona fostered her passion for providing zealous advocacy to the voiceless and discovering ways to serve her community through the legal profession.
Breona is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Gate City Bar Association, and the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. On a personal note, Breona enjoys spending time with her family, listening to live music, and catching as many sporting events as possible.
